Watermark Shirts

Things you will need:

  • Blue Gel Glue (Elmer's or knock off)
  • White t-shirt
  • Dye any color of your choice (Wal-mart or Hobby Lobby)
Step One:
Dampen your white shirt with cool water and place between a plastic bin lid or cardboard. (We used old chalk boards.) After doing that write or draw the design on your shirt with the Blue Gel Glue.

Step two:
Let glue dry overnight.

Step three:
Place the shirt in sink with pre mixed dye or if using tye dye make the pattern you would like and soak.  This step really just depends on the dye that you use. Follow the instructions on the packaging for best results!  After the shirt is dyed let the shirts dry so that the dye can fully soak in.  The lettering will not be clear but don't get discouraged!

Step four:
Now that the shirts are dry it is time to put them in cold water for 15 minutes.  This will get the excess dye out of the shirt and the rest of the glue to loosen/come off. No one wants unwanted shirts dyed. ;)

Step five:
The shirt is ready to be washed and dried then worn!

My final shirt!                                                                      Jessica's final shirt!

The watermark shirts were pretty easy to make and fun to do.  These were our test shirts so now we know how to make them in the near future!

How to improve my blog!

After reading an article by Marko Saric I found a few ways to make my blog better.

  • I need to be more focused when writing a post, make it about things that are related.  If, they do not relate then I can just post later or as a separate one.
  • I should also start using links to improve credibility on whatever the subject is I am talking about.
  • I am also going to try and include at least one picture in each post to help grab more attention to the readers.
  • Another possibility to improve my blog would be to promote my blog to people outside of the class.  Instead of just using it for a class I want to continue to use it after May as well.

Saric article was very informative and simple.  It was easy to scroll through and pick out things that specifically grabbed my attention to improve this blog.  Instead of bullet points they used numbers which I liked as well.  That made it easy to read.

Go read this to improve yours too!

Dating.

I must start out by saying that I do not enjoy dating.  We all have to suck it up and do it unless we want to be a lonely cat lady/man.  That's besides the point though.

I use to be the relationship type, I always had a boyfriend and it became emotionally exhausting after awhile.  I discovered that maybe I might want to get to know myself before getting to know another.  This has been an interesting journey for me and at times lonely.  I have learned more about myself in the past year than I could imagine possible.  I finally feel like I am ready to date.  This might sound silly to some but it is pretty hard for me.

Anyways.

What is important to you when looking for a mate?
Looks? Personality? Height? Humor? The list could go on and on. (I actually made one in my Sociology class last semester.)

There is a point to my rant about dating. I promise.

I went on a date with a guy last night that I normally wouldn't have gone out with.  (He's nice for once!) I think that most people seem nice but once you meet them is how you can really gauge who a person is.  It's in the way they hold themselves, speak to you and how they treat others.  I watch all of that and much more on the first date because it is so important.  I like to know that their attention is focused on me and not the plethora of people around us.

If they cannot pay attention to you on the first date then red flags should go up!

Technorati: State of the Blogosphere

As I was reading through this article I realized that there are a ton of blogs.  I mean, yes I was aware that everyone and their dog blogs.  Reading through and seeing all of the graphs made it a reality to me.  Most people that blog are doing it for themselves or a business.  Whether it is to discuss what is going on in their business or to discuss hot topics they have a reason to post.  Hobbyist are more of a creative aspect of blogs, or that's how I think of it anyways.  Which, is kind of sorta what I plan on making my blog be.

The thing that I learned inevitably is that I want to blog for a reason with something interesting to say.  It makes me want to have people reading my blog because they want to not because they have to.

Important people in my life.

My dad is in love with this little truck and we have no idea why.

My little brother, Michael, he means the world to me.  He's 10 and almost my size!

This is my mom, also my best friend, she doesn't smile in pictures for some reason.

Jessica is my best friend, I tell her everything.

Meghan (left) and Stephanie (right) are two of my craziest friends. In a good way of course. :)

Kendra and I have been through a lot together. I love her dearly.

This is an old photo of Ashley and I but it shows our relationship the best.

This is my favorite picture, so I had to add this one too.

3rd go 'round

Hi, my name is Bonny!  This is my 3rd attempt at a blog, and I plan on actually posting on this one (after class even).  I am not 100% on what I will write about, but hopefully something I write will be relatable/interesting to someone else.  I can make a story out of almost anything, so we will see where this goes!
