Today in my blogging class we had a guest speaker Dave Rhea (follow him) and he discussed a whole slur of things. For example, he was in a band, went to University of Florida, did some interesting videos for SBTV and now is working for The Journal Record.
The most important thing that I got from the whole class was his advice to us as students for our future careers.
"Love learning."
Yes, I am aware that it is only two words and very simple. It's also very applicable though. A lot of people think that once they have a career that things are set in stone. That is far from the truth if you plan on being in Public Relations, Broadcasting, Advertising, Journalism or anything else involving the media.
Media is changing and you have to embrace it or choose another career field. Blunt but true.
She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. -Proverbs 31:25

Guest Speaker
Today in Blogging for Journalist we had a guest speaker, Kurt Hochenauer. He is the writer of a liberal blog called Okie Funk.
I found it really interesting to hear about the beginning of his blog, how often he post and about some of the back lash he has encountered.
I like knowing that he post honestly and doesn't mind hearing what others have to say/complain about his opinion. A lot of people write about the things that are driven by anger but his tend to be honest and not just a rand about what is going on. It is refreshing to read intelligent opinion about our government.
Knowing that Doc Hoc does not include ads because he does it out of enjoyment instead of for money is great to hear. He also spoke about how tags are a good thing and actually showed us the impact they can make as well.
All in all it was very informative!
